"With unarguably the best team in MHS basketball history, the boys’ team closed out the regular season with a victory over Wakefield, upping their record to 18-0 in the league, 19-1 total. One of the highlights of the season was a match-up between #5 ranked Lexington and then #3 ranked Melrose. In front of 3,000 fans, Melrose romped over Lexington, 88-69. Other high points included being Middlesex League champs, obtaining an impressive #1 ranking in the North Sectionals and a #2 ranking in EMASS, and sweeping Wakefield for the first time in 18 years."
