Dr. Robert Hormel

Dr. Robert Hormel served as Melrose High School physician for over 40 years. He was physician to the football team from 1946-1977. Dr. Hormel's service went well beyond medical treatment. He was one of the most respected and appreciated members of the Melrose High School athletic community. Literally, hundreds of athletes have been entrusted into his care, but his greatest contribution was one of example. Dr. Hormel was more than a doctor; he was a wonderful example of a "good man".

It is to recognize his service, professionalism, and humanity that he has been inducted into the Melrose High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
